I was in the kitchen of my house getting stuff ready for dinner. I absolutely could not shake the feeling of having a piece of lint or something on my left hand. I washed my hands a billion times, kept looking to see if there was a piece of thread stuck in my wedding ring, anything that would explain what I was feeling.

Finally, I remembered that people often say if a spirit is touching you, it feels like static or spider webs on you. I pulled out my phone and took a video in an attempt to get an EVP (electronic voice phenomenon). I asked if someone was touching my hand and I shit you not, a whispered voice said, "yes" clear as day. As you can imagine, I got excited and nervous...not scared...but a little like, what the hell did I just do. 

This set me on a path to connect with other people who were mediums. I started learning about clairs. (These are essentially like your five senses, but spiritual senses.)

 Once I did that, the flood gates opened up.

Before I knew it I was starting to see, hear, feel, and know people who had passed. It happened all the time. I saw them at restaurants, other people's houses, my own house, a tattoo shop, in my car...literally everywhere that people are, spirits would be. I put some boundaries in place for myself and my home, and kind of just let it evolve. 

Admittedly for a while I didn't acknowledge this ability. I told my very, very close circle (like 4 people) and left it at that. I didn't feel like I could share what I was experiencing without being considered crazy, or making it up. It was only after years, and so many validations, that I now feel comfortable to share. This is my truth and my reality. 

Every experience I have is different. I have no idea what will come through anytime I'm connected with someone's loved one who's passed. I'm clear that I am not open to any negative energy so, all of my experiences have been absolutely amazing. 

As I sit here in sweat pants and a t-shirt that has "Y'ALL" written across it, I invite you to let yourself look at and explore all of the things that make you, you. Even the weird stuff. Trust me, you never know what will come from it.
